My Mission

This website is dedicated to those who have previously been poor, broken, defeated, underserved, and unheard. A website that shares the thoughts of a man who struggled with stark adversities growing up and worked to establish a life of purpose, which is to help people navigate the complexities of the world.

Your past adversities do not define who you are, but they are a meaningful part of your makeup and define who you are and, God willing, will be. I was once a poor black boy who has been called nigger more times than I can remember living in Wisconsin, a black boy who, to this day, remembers the smell of burning crack cocaine. This black boy has the image of crack pipes burned in my head from seeing them in my apartment growing up; a black boy observed his mother being beaten by his father. This black boy hid the fact that most days, I scrambled for food or made friends to be able to eat at “friends” homes to avoid being hungry at night.

I’ve lived through many traumatic life events. This space is a shared space and a peak into how I have been able to navigate these adversities and break out of the mindset and spirit of being poor and broken to advance my career, maintain a healthy and happy marriage, raise happy and healthy kids while still navigating the trauma from my past.

However, this website is more than a personal narrative; it is a lifeline extended to those still trapped by poverty and brokenness. Its purpose is to authentically share the struggles and triumphs of those who have known defeat, to inspire courage in the hearts of those who have known defeat, and to offer solace and guidance to those who still walk the tumultuous terrain of adversity.

In sharing my story, I hope to ignite a spark of resilience in the souls of those who have been overlooked and underestimated, to empower them to rise above their circumstances and seize their rightful place in this life. This is not just a website; it is a testament to the power of resilience, the triumph of the human spirit, and the boundless possibilities that await those who dare to dream. The goal is to share authentically and inspire courageously to help those who have previously been poor, broken, defeated, and may still be.
